Optional visitor analytics
When you choose Analytics only or Allow all in Privacy choices, we record a random visit ID, pages and booking steps, useful link clicks, referring website, campaign tags, device/browser type, timestamps and IP address. IP addresses are used for approximate country, region and town using a local DB-IP database; a location may be inaccurate, especially on mobile networks or VPNs. Visitor IPs are not sent to a geolocation API. We do not record screenshots, keystrokes, form text, addresses or payment fields in this analytics system. It does not identify every visitor or provide a precise physical address.
Analytics is off until you permit it. You can choose Essential only at any time using Privacy choices. This stops further analytics and removes the current visit record. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. If you permit advertising too, the existing Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and Statcounter tools load on marketing pages; their own processing is described below. They do not load in the new booking flow.
Saving an unfinished booking
If you tick the optional box to save your booking details, we store only your name, email/phone and hire choices so the team can help with an unfinished booking. This is separate from analytics permission. Unticking the box removes an unsubmitted saved draft. Once you submit a booking/enquiry, its record is retained as a submitted request. Card information is entered only in Stripe’s checkout and is never captured by this recovery feature. During website review, use fictional details. Recovery emails and Capsule tasks are switched off.
Access and retention
These visitor and recovery records are available only to authorised staff and automatically removed after 30 days without activity. IPs are masked by default; an authorised administrator can reveal an IP, with access logged. Completed bookings and submitted enquiries are suppressed from unfinished-booking follow-up. Submitted booking documents and essential server/security logs have their own retention arrangements. To request access or deletion of information, contact info@hiremevehiclerentals.co.uk.
